Highs
Imposing looks, spacious interior, good ride, ample towing capacity when properly equipped.
Lows
It's big, thirsty at the pump.
What's New
A new 303-hp 4.7-liter V-8 that can run on E85 makes the HEMI look less attractive, some new options.
Behind The Wheel
Whether Durango or Aspen, it rides and handles well for such a large, body-on-frame SUV. The optional Hemi engine upgrade delivers ample acceleration.
Capsule Review
Dodge redesigned this SUV (Durango) in 2004, and Chrysler's verion (Aspen) of this tough, body-on-frame truck arrived last year. Both are available with a 335-hp, 5.7-liter Hemi, which comes with cylinder deactivation, which shuts off four of the eight cylinders when not needed and improves mpg.
